FOREWORD
The Government of India is actively strengthening its skilling initiatives to equip the workforce with
industry – relevant and future – oriented skills. Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) play a pivotal role in
supplying industry - relevant skilled manpower. To ensure training remains aligned with evolving industry
demands. ITI syllabi are periodically updated with inputs from key stakeholders, including industry
experts, entrepreneurs, academicians and ITI representatives.
Furthermore, the availability of quality instructional material is crucial for ensuring effective training
delivery. The National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), Chennai, has developed this instructional
material aligned with the curriculum. This material has been meticulously designed in accordance with
the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) and adheres to the quality standards expected by
industry.
This instructional material serves as a comprehensive guide for both instructors and trainees, covering all
essential aspects required to achieve proficiency in a structured and easy-to-follow format. The material
is expected to benefit trainers, trainees of ITIs, and other stakeholders across the skilling ecosystem.
The contributions of the subject matter experts and the National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI),
Chennai, in the development of this instructional material are duly acknowledged and appreciated. The
material is expected to serve as an effective resource for enhancing the quality of training and supporting
